Impossible d'exécuter "dpkg --add-architecture i386" sur 12.04 64 bits pour exécuter Eclipse ADT

Exécution d'ubuntu 12.04 64 bits. J'essaie de suivre les étapes écrites à la fin de la page this sous le titre: Installation de Android bibliothèques compatibles SDK. Je le fais pour résoudre this problem. Mais quand je lance la première commande

Sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386

il échoue et donne la sortie suivante:

pkg: error: unknown option --add-architecture

Comparison operators for --compare-versions are:
  lt le eq ne ge gt       (treat empty version as earlier than any version);

  < << <= = >= >> >       (only for compatibility with control file syntax).

Use `dselect' or `aptitude' for user-friendly package management.

assurez-vous que le seul fichier présent dans /etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.d/ est "multiarch"

ls /etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.d/

si la sortie est

multiarch

exécutez les commandes suivantes comme elles sont remplacées par "multiarch" par le nom du fichier présent dans ce répertoire.

Sudo sh -c "echo 'foreign-architecture i386' > /etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.d/multiarch"

La commande ci-dessus ajoutera une architecture i386.

12.04 n'est pas complètement multiarch.

Pour que Android environnement dev soit opérationnel:

 Sudo apt-get install ia32-libs openjdk-6-jdk:i386
