Si vous voulez créer tar.gz et que vous utilisez PHP 5.3+, vous pouvez utiliser PharData class:

Vous pouvez utiliser la classe Zip de PHP pour créer des fichiers Zip et ZLib pour créer des fichiers gzip.

Créer un .Zip fichier:

$Zip = new ZipArchive();
$res = $Zip->open('test.Zip', ZipArchive::CREATE);
$Zip->addFromString('test.txt', 'file content goes here');
$Zip->addFile('data.txt', 'entryname.txt');
$Zip->close();

Créer un .gz fichier:

Il existe un moyen très simple de créer des archives Tar directement dans PHP - vous pouvez trouver une CLASSE sur sourceforge de Dennis Wronka sous LGPL afin que vous puissiez également l'utiliser dans le commerce des scripts.
